"The Gifts of Imperfection" - Brené Brown
Rating: 4 out of 5

Yes, this is a pop-psychology, American-style book for everyone. The actual research references are superficial at best. I read this book after watching the author’s TED talk, and now I understand why some reviewers are disappointed. I expected a clash of grounded, precise reasoning with personal story. Instead, I got too much of the latter. It’s not balanced the way I would like. Yet, it has a lot of charm and presents a no-nonsense view on complicated and contradictory human nature (if you skip parts about praying and Paulo Coelho).
